the story of Marie–an audio sample for your enjoyment

I prepared the following excerpt as a fiction sample for a potential client. I enjoyed recording it, have enjoyed the story, and think you might, too!

The story is Marie, by Laura E. Richards, and copyrighted in 1894 by Estes and Lauriat. The relationships are awkward and sweet, while frustrating, too–rather realistic–and it is certainly dated. I hope to serialize the book, here at Laura’s Voice, so here’s a little taste to whet your appetite.
