Give me Liberty. . . by Patrick Henry

Gaining our nation’s independence this month more than two centuries ago warrants a few patriotic readings. The first is Henry’s famous speech, delivered to the House of Burgesses at Saint John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia, that immortalizes the final lines, “Give me liberty or give me death.” What I wouldn’t give to hear the passion with which he delivered this same speech all those days ago.
