Excerpts from Christmas diaries

Here it is December 1st, the beginning of Advent, and I’ve found some interesting diary entries for Christmas Day, courtesy of The Public Domain Review (check them out at www.publicdomainreview.org!) Today’s is from the familiar Henry David Thoreau–you may have heard of his book, Walden, mentioned herein.
